At top: Susan Crawford, Guillaume Bailly, Pete Faucher, Paul Wells, Alan Miller, Chris Wilson (missing from photo is Anthony Franchini who is too fast and was gone home already!) Pete finally met his match, this man was running his 18th consecutive. The famous Heartbreak hills that broke many this year in the heat! The new open design medal, a first. |
Congratulations to the 2016 Boston Marathon Phoenix crew. It was a first time in Bean Town for Guillaume Bailly, Chris Wilson and Anthony Franchini, and all three had a chance to see what the Boston Marathon is all about! Our friend Paul Wells flew in from Berlin to join the group and to run his second Boston, both Susan Crawford and Alan Miller ran their fourth and Pete was there for his 8th kick at the can, well on his way to 10 consecutive by 2019. Nestor Lewyckyj, a Boston regular seven times over, had to sit this one out because of a back injury, but he'll be back! It was a great weekend and everyone enjoyed themselves. The temperature was hotter than expected with +15/20 degrees and burning sun right from the start and a nasty head wind most of the route, the Boston Marathon likes to throw things at unsuspecting marathoners, you never know what you're gonna get.
